Allysen Olsen
July 20th
(Wednesday)-July 22nd (Friday)
1pm-4pm

Allysen Olsen grew up on a farm in the wild west with an untamed love for cows and dancing.

The passion, drive, and work ethic she learned

on the farm has led her to her to fall in love with

the ferocious physicality of dance. Graduating

with her Bachelor of Science in dance allowed her to combine her love of movement and science to unlock the efficiency and power of the body. Scholarships

have allowed her to diversify her training by

working with numerous companies and artists

from around the world at various intensives,

conferences, and master classes.
Allysen obtained her BASI Pilates teaching certification in 2020 and currently dances

professionally with Atlas Dance Collective. She shares her experiences with her students at studios, private school dance programs and as Adjunct Professor at Salt Lake Community College. Allysen aspires to continue her research of physicality and the empathetic transfer between dance performer-spectator and use

her research in dance to help others unlock their potential to embody fully and dance confidently

through life.

A traditional class format of barre, center, and moving through space can be expected.

In the upper division of Level 1, dancers are typically between the ages of 8-12 years, and have some ballet experience. If you have any questions about this, please be in touch for personalized recommendations. Dancers in this group are eager to learn more about the basics of ballet and focus on solidifying the foundational concepts and movements of the art form. An evaluation of strength and alignment will precede approval for pointework, as well as an evaluation of bone growth to be mindful of dancer preparedness.
